Do you have free roaming cats on your property and feel the issue needs to be addressed? A Cat Management Workshop is being held Saturday, Sept. 26 at 11 a.m. at Dobson Ranch Library, 2425 S. Dobson Road.

"So many people are frustrated by not knowing what to do. The workshop will focus on developing a cat management plan and other solutions that are effective, long term, legal and humane," Mesa Animal Control Supervisor Diane Brady said. The workshop will address the problem of feral cat colonies and the importance of having cats spayed or neutered.

The workshop is open to homeowners, businesses, property management companies, homeowners associations, condominium/apartment owners/tenants and anyone else interested in learning about the resources available to deal with the issue.

"When the problem is not taken care of, the free roaming cats continue to breed. This is a great forum to educate about what to do if you have free roaming cats on your property," The Foundation for Homeless Cats Direct or Carla Jewell said.

The workshop is co-sponsored by City of Mesa Animal Control Unit, Maricopa County Animal Care and Control and The Foundation for Homeless Cats. For more information, contact City of Mesa Animal Control Unit at (480) 644-2268 or The Foundation for Homeless Cats at (602) 410-2972.
