Marlborough Mesa

Some of the neighborhood children play at the park where Pampa and Peralta meet, my own three children included.  We do allow them to go on their own, as long as they are in groups, usually five children or more, for safety.  Late last week they went to play.  There was a man sitting at one of the tables, eating some food.  He said that he wanted to meet my nine year old daughter, identifying himself as "Bobby."  Speaking to an adult, and not wanting to seem rude, she told him her name.  This man then stood up, walked over to where she was, and hugged her.  She does not know this man.  She said she had never seen him in the neighborhood before, and has not seen him since.  She then told her friends that she wanted to go home immediately, collected her younger siblings, and left.  She described him as being about 5'9'' tall, with graying hair and a close cut beard.  He was wearing pants, a button down shirt, and a hat.  I pulled up the Watchdog website, which posts the names, convictions and photos of sex offenders that live in our area, but she did not recognize any of them.  Please be careful.      

I do hope you reported this incident to the police at 480-644-2211.  If you have not already - it is not too late to do so.  If he did this one time - he most likely will do it again.
