I like the older lights as well but the savings are worth it. At some point, incandescent lighting will be phased out everywhere.

The savings are so small as to be almost not worth the time spent installing the new lights.
28,000 a year, for the entire project.
That's not a lot of savings considering the cost of putting the lights up.

I personally love these lights. I was assaulted by a peeping tom back in Sept. of 2004 in my own front yard. The new lights light up the entire area, and it makes me feel a LOT safer whenever I leave when it's dark, since I can see more of my surroundings and there aren't as many hiding places. That's a HUGE plus for me now, especially because I have three little girls of my own. |
