Does anyone know or can find out what happened?

What we do know and witnessed first hand is that about 12 noon a helicopter was flying around the corner of Alma School and Guadalupe for a very long time.  I called police and all they would tell me is that they were providing ground police help in case the individual/s began to run ... they could be their eyes overhead.

We got a call from Linda Murphy saying there were a TON of police cars all around/behind the Taco Bell.  Jim and I decided to go see for ourselves.  When we got there, there were at least 8 police cars from Gilbert, Chandler and Mesa.  There were also MANY unmarked cars and it looked like they had "boxed a car in".  We were going to have lunch there and it was about 1 pm at the time when we pulled up.  We asked if we should even be there to an officer and they told us "NO ... this is not a good time."

I received this email last night from another neighbor: 

"Did you hear anything about the commotion this afternoon?  I work at Dobson and rumor had it that there was a home invasion somewhere around Alma School and Guadalupe and they caught the intruder.  Did you hear anything about it true or not true???" 

I contacted Mesa PD again, as what I heard was disturbing at best.  Sgt. Ritchie was on that call and Jerry Quarles returned the answers:

"This was indeed a home invasion in Gilbert at Guadalupe and Val Vista.  There was a high speed chase that ended up at our Taco Bell on Guad and Alma School.  The suspect was taken into custody from Taco Bell."

Thank you for getting that information for us. We were in the garden when this was happening and we were quite curious.
