On 3-20-11 I received a call from a neighbor on Pecos ... suspicious activity.
There were 3 male occupants - black males - taking pictures of OPEN garage doors. They drove by about 5 times! Our residents (2 homes) were astute enough to get details which are:
Grey Honda - late model, w/severe rear end damage. It had a California plate #6BQ1980. The police were called but there was no crime committed so there was little they could do.
On the same note:
Our Crime Prevention Officer, Jerry Quarles, sent me the following message on 3-28-11:
"I drove the Marlborough Mesa neighborhood today, March 28 at 3:00 pm and observed 15 open garage doors with no one around. I waited for a few minutes to see if anyone came out. (just enough time to take many things I observed in the garages, if I was a criminal looking for an opportunity!) In addition, there were 4 unsecured vehicles (windows were down). I also observed 20 vehicles parked on the roadway facing against traffic, which is a parking violation. I may suggest you post something on your website or send out e-mails to remind residents to keep their garage doors closed and vehicles secure as to not become a victim of opportunity crime."
