Councilmember Dennis Kavanaugh has posted an update on Fiesta Village... apparently they don't feel like responding to his question about redevelopment of the eyesore at Alma School & Southern.

There's some discussion on his Facebook Page too.

Well, if enough people "weigh in" on this situation and make your suggestions ... just maybe Grace Company will take notice.  Here are my suggestions to them:

Dear Owners,

We have been owners of our home before Fiesta Mall and before Fiesta Village.  We realize the economic times.  However, that has not given us an excuse to let our property slide into a slum and an eyesore that everyone in the entire City of Mesa can identify.

You have such an amazing piece of real estate and it is so noticed by everyone and
SO much could be done to improve what you already have.  This property is so close with easy access to three big draws:

Mesa Community College

Banner  Desert Medical Center and the new

Cardon Children’s Medical Center

This is not to mention Fiesta Mall itself nor many others.

And, not to go unnoticed will be that the light rail will be making its way to Alma
School Road within the next few years.  Mesa’s only station, at Sycamore Street, is the busiest on the entire line in the Phoenix Metro area.  This alone should induce more development along the line and those close to it.  I speak for myself and our entire neighborhood with expectations of you coming to a rapid solution for this property.

With Regards and High Hopes,

Alma Jones

To the Owners of the Fiesta Mall Eye Sore:

You know that if we let our homes reach the condition of your property, the city would condemn, fine, and than teardown said property.

If most of us in the City of Mesa had our way, your property would have been torn down long ago and made into a park, fire station, or a police station.

Please do not let another decade pass before you do something constructive about your property.
