Does anyone in the neighborhood have a "do it yourself" style water softener? (the whole house kind that uses salt) Usually GE, Whirpool, Water Boss, etc.
We just put in a new one, and I'm not sure it's working. I got a water hardness test kit, and it tells me the softener input (Mesa city water) is 11 grains per gallon, and the softener output is 4 grains per gallon. I was expecting the output to be 2 grains per gallon at most.
Does anyone have one? Have you measured the water hardness output?
