This program provides transportation services to older adults and disabled community members. The program has five handicap accessible vehicles used daily to provide rides in the following areas:
- Medical and dental appointments
- Scheduled group grocery shopping trips
- Senior congregate dining
- Special program activities: Friendship Center Adult Daycare and The Seniors’ Place (Senior Center)
- Recreational and sightseeing trips
Program participants:
Older Adults, age 55 and over
Community residents experiencing mobility problems due to illness or disabling conditions
Serves over 350 individuals per year
A donation of $3.00 per one-way ride is requested.
This program operates with the joint efforts between East Side Neighborhood Services and the following organizations: Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging, The Minnesota Department of Transportation 5310 Grant program, The Twin Cities Greater United Way and donations from participants.
