Hello Groups,

It sounds odd, but as the seasons change, so do crime trends. There have been reported crimes that we wanted you to be aware of, and please tell your neighbors ! Share the info, and look out for one another.

Air Conditioning Units - Thieves will strip the copper wire out of units, and sell them at recycling locations etc... If you see someone who appears to be working on an AC Unit, but there are no visible company vehicles with advertising nearby, call the Police. It's better to have the people checked out, than for your neighbor to have to replace the parts ! This also applies to homes still under construction.

Vehicle Burglaries - Out of all the vehicle burglaries reported in New Tampa, over half of the vehicles were not locked! Lock vehicles, and keep valuables out of sight! Unfortunately unlocked vehicles account for a large majority of Vehicle Thefts as well. Use the CLUB too !!
Home Burglaries could also become a problem because of people leaving windows & doors open. Don't let the season lure you into laxed Crime Prevention! Keep everything locked & secure. Open doors and windows when you are home & paying attention.
