The McLoughlin Neighborhood Association has many volunteer opportunities available to interested neighbors.
The following Committees are looking to fill membership shortages.
· Transportation: Concerned about traffic? Get involved in the Transportation Committee.
· Parks and Neighborhood Assets: This group is involved in helping plan for the changes, improvements, needs and concerns of the neighborhood parks and buildings such as the Ermatinger House, the Carnegie Center and the various parks in the neighborhood.
· History Committee: This committee is involved in maintaining the history of the neighborhood and educating neighbors through newsletter articles etc. on our extensive neighborhood history.
· Garden Club: Interested in Gardening, want to work with others on projects around the neighborhood. This committee will be involved in education and work projects to benefit the neighborhood.
· Land Use: Ever wonder how land use decisions are made? How does the community figure into growth? Well, wonder no more, this committee gets involved in any land use action that involves the neighborhood. The City communicates with and requests responses from this active committee.
· We are also looking for members of the neighborhood who are interested in working with the Chiefs Advisory Committee (A forum for the Police and Fire Departments) to work closely with the neighborhoods.
Many of these committees require a minimum amount of time in the evenings and an occasional meeting. Please consider getting involved with your Neighborhood Association in 2003.
Meet you neighbors and help our neighborhood to be a better place to live.
