SLOW DOWN!

The number one compliant in the neighborhood is SPEEDING! Too many people are going WAY too fast down Meadow Rue Dr. Now that summer is right around the corner, it is important to remember to watch for the children playing in the neighborhood. Recently there was a scare with a car that ran off the road on Meadow Rue very close to where some children normally play. We were very fortunate that no one was hurt in the accident but next time may be a different story. We have contacted Gwinnett County DOT and unfortunately miss communicated the Speed Bump information in the last newsletter. The process is as follows:
First a speed survey must be done.
If this survey concludes we have a speeding issue then we will need at minimum a 70% agreement of the homeowners in the form of a signed petition to move forward with the installation.
If the traffic survey does not come up conclusive then a 90% agreement will be needed.
Gwinnett Co. will fund the installation BUT the cost to the home owners will be $12 per year regardless of the number of bumps. This will assessed in the yearly taxes.

Currently there is no one is heading up this this department and until then we cannot move forward with anything, but I have requested the survey.

PLEASE, lets do our part?—slow down when driving through our streets and parents lets make sure our children are playing in a safe area.
