The 19th Annual National Night Out is scheduled for August 6th, 2002. National Night Out is a unique crime/drug prevention event designed to:
Heighten awareness of crime and drug prevention:
Generate support for, and participation in local anti-crime programs:
Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Traditional National Night Out activities include a traditional display of outdoor and porch lights. Block parties, cookouts, flashlight walks, and visits from local police are on the agenda. Plan to participate in the festivities.
