Legal Defense Fund

Posted in: Colonial Acres
I was appalled when reading in the newsletter that CANA is wanting to use the Legal Defense Fund money as ''seed'' money for Neighborhood Repair Fund. This fund was established to fight Kroger, members voted to retain for future legal defense and should remain for legal defense. Rezoning and Land Use issues will be forever present in the area. Members voted to protect their investment in their neighborhood and so the money should stand for that.
With having a current rezone issue of 1505 Perkins, I cannot believe CANA Officials would even suggest to spend this fund elsewhere. What is the status of 1505 Perkins?

When one cannot afford or is unable to maintain their home, it might be time to consider alternatives to owning and caring for an older home.

Had I known my legl defense fund contriubtion would have later been re-directed elsewhere, I would have opted to take a refund at the conclusion of the Kroger battle. I did not ''vote'' on the newsletter form, because I resented being asked this question while requiring my name, address and phone number. I do not want to appear uncaring, but it looks like you people are trying to pull a ''bait and switch'' on us. You will have trouble raising money again for a legal battle.

1505 perkins

I am pretty close with the Martin family. Skip Martin is the owner/operator of Precision Prothectics. After talking to his son, the company already has a new location which they are slowly moving into.

I do not know with the rezoning what is going to happen. Are they going to allow that to stay commerical or i it being moved to residential?

let me know... and i will probe soem more questions.

Re: Legal Defense Fund

We had a few inappropriate responses posted on this thread, which upon removal also requiring removing all the sub-replies. I am restoring one that was posted earlier this week by Bettie S.

I, too, contributed to the legal defense fund. I expect the Association to stay on top of this rezoning issue.
