MCCNA is a voluntary association of neighbors living in Mill Creek Crossing. We organized in 1998 in response to a developer's plan to build 3-story apartments right next to our neighborhood. After a long and hard battle with the city, the developer, and some city councilmen, we were able to defeat the apartment complex. The Summerfield homes are now going in on that property.
From the beginning, MCCNA has been a zealous defender of property values and quality of life for our residents. We work hard every day for YOU!
*MCCNA Board Members visited about half the homes in the MCC area to find out what issues are important to our residents.
*MCCNA worked closely with the Garland Police to inform residents of a string of home burglaries. We printed a special flyer and delivered it to over 200 of our homes.
*
*MCCNA officers and residents testify before the City Council, Plan Commission, Park Dept. and Transportation Dept. regarding neighborhood issues.
*MCCNA is an active member in the Garland Homeowner’s Coalition and Texas Neighborhoods Together (TNT).
*MCCNA supports the Neighborhood Watch program, which reduces crime in our neighborhood compared to our surrounding neighborhoods..
*MCCNA serves as liaison between our residents and the city’s Code Compliance, Police, and Fire Departments.
*MCCNA files requests to the City for services such as road repair and park maintenance, enhancing our neighborhood.
*MCCNA publishes this newsletter to keep residents informed, and additional nbulletins as needed (crime notices, zoning change applications, etc.)
*MCCNA waters, mows, landscapes, and decorates the main entrance at Centerville Road and High Meadow Drive.
*MCCNA had the boundaries of the proposed Highland Creek revitalization area redrawn to EXCLUDE MCCNA homes, which keeps our neighborhood united and preserves our name.
