A Word from the Solid Waste Management Department

Intoduction

In an effort to keep your neighborhood safe and clean the City of Tucson and the Miracle Manor neighborhood association have joined together to proviide you with some useful information on property maintenance. We request that you carefully read the information and take any corrective action needed to help keep your neighborhood safe and clean for children, neighbors and utility workers.

Property Maintenance

Overgrown weeds, bushes, grass and vegetation are fire and safety hazards. Property maintenance of any right of way abutting the property including the alley, sidewalk, curb or easement. Grass, shrubs and trees must be maintained in the right of way and on the property. The branches of any tree extending over any public sidewalk, street, alley, adjacent properties or other public way should be trimmed so they do not obstruct vision of the travel of motorists, people, city vehicles, utility vehicles, not result in a condition which may threaten the health, safety or welfare of the other property owners, lessees or tenants occupying property adjacent to the premises or premises upon which the growth occurs.

Junk, Litter and Debris

Accumulation of junk, litter and debris cannot be left in the yard. It must be disposed of properly. This includes junk auto parts, appliances, furniture, building and/or landscaping material, and tires; litter, such as discarded paper, cardboard, plastics, etc; debris such as tree trimmings and fallen tree links; or any other items that have been discarded.
