Gardens to Share

Feb 10, 2001

The MNA is exploring the idea of setting up a program that allows neighbors to donate extra produce from their gardens to a local organization that fights hunger. Neighbors would notify project volunteers whenever they have produce to donate; volunteers would then pick up the produce and deliver it to the chosen organization. The time commitment would depend on how much individual volunteers would like to be involved.

Currently, there is a need for neighbors willing to help with the initial planning stages. Suggestions of local organization that could benefit from the fresh produce would be welcome, as well. If you would like to help with the planning of this program or any other aspect, contact Kimberly McClain by email at kmbrly101@hotmail.com ro by phone at 503/262-0831.
