Get Rid of Graffiti

Summer is the high season for graffiti, but with the support of active community members, Portland can provide a clean and healthy environment for

all its residents. Perhaps the most effective way to prevent graffiti from reoccurring is to remove it within 24 hours. This will greatly reduce, and
potentially eliminate, the number of repeat tags. The more maintained a building, the less likely that it will become a target. Call the Portland
Police Bureau’s Graffiti Hotline at 823-4TAG to report graffiti, and remember to provide the exact business name and address needing clean-up.
Without this information, response time is lengthened considerably.

The Graffiti Removal Program (GRP) works year-round to help clean up graffiti throughout Portland. The program operates with a crew of youth trainees who either paint over graffiti, or use solvents and pressure wash to remove graffiti from walls, signs, and other surfaces. Technical expertise and training are also available for residents who wish to remove graffiti themselves but are not sure how to do it. In addition, the GRP is happy to help citizens and community groups organize a clean-up event for their neighborhood. Contact them through the Graffiti Hotline.
