Meeting Minutes

In Attendance: Rick Brounstein, David Linn. Galina Grigoryan, Jennifer Tamayo, Craig Bach, Gary Berger, Jeffery Rose, Ruth Hander, David Carter, Ken Turner, Maria Sworske, Alema McCrea, Erica Cutler, Justin Cutler, Victor & Sandra Flemming, Sarah Selden, Sally Brounstein, Lisa Laurenceau, Afifa Ahmed-Shafi, Keith Miller

7:00 pm – Meeitng called to order by Chair Sandra McDaniel - Introductions and
congratulations for volunteers
- Victor Flemming – Helped spur ODOT to fence off tunnel underneath 82nd MAX stop
- Mary Ann – Work on Public Safety Commission
- Maureen Wright – Montavilla Library effort, whose board continues to seek a suitable location
- Ken Turner – Worked to realize the 82nd Ave of Roses effort
- Alema McCrea – Helped create METBA and has successfully applied for a grant for street benches
- Galina Grigoryan – Office of crime prevention – has worked to increase block watches from 5 to 41
- Afifa Ahmed-Shafi – Her work with SEUL and the MNA
- David Carter – Manager of Montavilla Safeway – Has repeatedly been available for volunteer work and donated part of the parking lot for last summers outreach event
- Jeffery Rose from Lents NA, Ruth Harder from Madison South NA, guests and fellow volunteers
- MNA board for its continual efforts

7:55 pm – PPB report – Officer McGuire Absent – Take precautions to dissuade thieves

7:58 pm - Announcement that Montavilla brewfest has donated $200 to MNA

8:00 pm – Chair Sandra McDaniel called a break

8:15 pm – Chair Sandra McDaniel called meeting back to order

8:16 pm – Land-use discussion led by Gary Berger & Sarah Bode
- 6 condo’s being put in on 89th & Lincoln
- 76th & Lincoln
Concerns expressed over parking density and construction being disruptive. Keith Miller raised possibility of circulating a petition to add restrictions on disruption allowed by construction permits.
SEUL Land-use person, Gary Berger, suggested a learning session for neighbors and board members willing to learn more about the land-use and planning process.
