Our November 11th Block Watch meeting at the Iglesia de las Artes was a great success. The large turn out was due to the efforts of several community members assisting with the development of flyers, as well as the distribution throughout the neighborhood. The guest speaker, Immigration Attorney Josephine Work, gave an excellent presentation on the facts and realities of immigration law. She was able to provide answers to several questions that the audiance had for her. This meeting had a mix of monolingual Spanish speakers and monolingual English speakers, as well as a few bilingual people. Everyone was able to paricipate and understand the dialogue due to the use of translation equipment provided by TERROS. The group also enjoyed chips, salsa, brown rice and tamales.
