Most of us in Morgan Park don't realize that we have been invaded by crime.
The mainstream media and even the Chicago Defender never have anything about what's going on here. But let somebody get jumped on in Lincoln Park or downtown, and it becomes front page news.
For example, have you heard one word in the news about any crime around here? I sure haven't. But in this police beat (2234) from October 1 to 22, we have had three robberies, four assaults, one battery, one weapons violation, seven burglaries, three thefts of property and other crimes.
Last week during school hours, three youngsters had bad intentions about our home. We had not responded to their doorbell ringing and pounding on the door, so they circled around to the rear. And when they saw us looking through the window at them they took off.
The robbery, assault and theft victims around here are all victims of these human pieces of living garbage.
Police are not watching out for us. They will only come whan called and write their reports. We have to look out for each other.
