The Friends of Mt. Tabor Park (FMTP) have completed their fourth year as an organization dedicated to the support, maintenance, and improvement of Mt. Tabor Park. During the year we held four half-day service projects, joined with groups from Hands of Portland, Reed College, AmeriCorps, and Job Corps. We sponsored an evening program on Mt. Tabor history with Jan Caplener. At our family picnic nearly 80 adults and children were captivated by internationally acclaimed juggler Rhys Thomas. The host and foot patrol conducted nearly 275 patrols, picking up trash, answering questions, helping recover lost items, reporting problems, distributing literature, and making many new friends. It looks like 2004 will be another highly successful year for FMTP; if you?’d like to become a partner in this success, call 503/254-5931.
