In 2000 the 29th Street Weed & Seed Coalition was born.
Myers Neighborhood along with Alvernon Heights, Julia Keen, Roberts and Naylor Neighborhoods came together as five neighborhoods speaking with one voice, obtaining Weed & Seed grant funds, and improving the safety and quality of life in our neighborhoods.
The Weed & Seed grant funds pay for extra police activities and for prevention and restoration programs for youth, families, and the neighborhoods.
