AZ Project Challenge: Deadline: December 19, 2008 For more information, contact www.azpc.org ( http://www.azpc.org/ ) or 1-800-296-8110 The mission of the Arizona Project ChalleNGe program is to intervene in the life of an at-risk youth and to produce a program graduate with the values, skills, education, and self-discipline necessary to succeed as an adult. Arizona Project ChalleNGe is a free program that is administered and operated by the Arizona National Guard. There is no military obligation for those who participate. The program is co-educational and consists of a five-month "quasi-military" residential phase and a one-year post-residential phase. An exceptional feature of the Arizona Project ChalleNGe is the commitment of mentors. Arizona Project ChalleNGe will consider enrolling young adults who are strongly motivated to improve their lives. In order to succeed, cadets must have the desire and the ability to be challenged physically, emotionally, psychologically, and academically. Participants must be: Not be on probation or parole Not have ANY prior felony convictions Not pending ANY legal action Volunteer to enroll Be willing to comply with program rules Be a high school dropout or dis-enrollee Be drug-free upon registration Be unemployedBe at least 16 - and not yet 20 - years old Be a US citizen or permanent US resident Be an Arizona resident Be sponsored by a prospective mentorFor more information, contact www.azpc.org or 1-800-296-8110 This program hosts 2 classes each year, with 100 students per class.
