Mesa rewards employees who work safely
The City of Mesa recognized over 30 staff members on April 12 for working safely on the job. The luncheon, which was held at the Rendezvous Center, focused on those employees who have reached either their 15 or 20 year mark and have not had a preventable accident while on duty. This is particularly unique because each person honored works in a field position such as Police, Fire or Code Compliance where the risk of an accident runs extremely high.
Fifteen-year recipients were awarded with a City of Mesa watch, while twenty-year recipients were given a multi-purpose tool. Assistant Human Resources Director Donna Salemi commented, "This type of recognition is important as it costs the City far less than an accident would. We are proud of these individuals and feel they deserve acknowledgement."
The City recognized the following individuals:

Gregory Fleger, Kevin Hanson, Robert Hernandez, Daniel T. Hey, Michael Mason, Paul Medlock, Travis Metcalfe, Earl Schmidt III
