The City of Englewood is coordinating again this year with Englewood Schools on a Youth Civics Program that provides local government students with a "hands-on" approach to learning. Through the program, City Council and staff members visit the classrooms to help students better understand how their local government operates, and how they can play active roles in their community.
Students then choose a "City Council" from among themselves, and the program culminates with mock City Council meetings addressing real city issues and projects. If you are interested in attending these mock council meetings, check upcoming issues of this newsletter for dates, times, and locations of the meetings.
The program is currently being offered at the middle school and high school levels.
