On opportunity to witness and participate in one of the South Natomas community’s most significant historical events. That evening, starting at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, the City Council will decide whether or not to provide funding for the construction of the South Natomas Community Center. The City Council has stated that it knows that South Natomas needs a community center, but the Council needs to be convinced that the time to fund the construction of the center is now, not later. We have already waited for 20 years. It is our turn to enjoy the multitude of benefits that a community center brings to a community.
HOW DO WE CONVINCE THE CITY COUNCIL TO FUND THE COMMUNITY CENTER? We fill the City Council Chambers on the evening of October 12th. Just as the construction of Fort Natomas took a significant community effort, so will getting funds for the construction of the community center. Your participation is critical. This is not a battle that may be won by just a few. It will take no less than a multitude. As a convenience, those interested in carpooling to the Council meeting will meet at La Bou in the Park Plaza Center at West El Camino Avenue and Truxel Boulevard at 6:30 p.m. on the 12th. See you there!
