NEAC General Meeting Notes 2/13/03

Zoning

NEAC approved zoning variance CV02-072 for Columbus Urban Growth regarding the Taylor Avenue Homes Project. The variance was for the sideyard, setback and parking spaces for proposed multifamily apts. to be developed on the east side of Taylor between Maryland and Emerald.

Planning

Planning Department Meetings are moved to a new location: The Health Department, corner of Main Street and Parsons room 19-C.

After a meeting with Steve McClary, Planning Division, City of Columbus at the next Planning Committee meeting, it will be decided how to proceed with the Near East Area Plan.

NEAC voted to support Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing on their rehab project of 26 properties of the Broad Street portfolio they are planning to acquire. Air conditioning and showers will be added to each unit. 60 units will be deconcentrated with the possibility of deconcentrating 80 more.

NEAC did not support American Community Developers in the application of tax credits to rehab Mt. Vernon Plaza.

Annoucements

There is a meeting Tuesday, February 18th, 6pm at the Model Neighborhood Facility to discuss the future of the Model Neighborhood Facility.

District I Spring Meeting is Febrary 27th, 6:45pm at 1035 Atcheson, the Mt. Vernon Senior Towers. Joyce Beatty, 27th House State Representitive will be there to speak on how budget cuts will affect senior service and Linda Donelley, Housing Division, City of Columbus will be availalbe to answer questions about the rehab of the Mt. Vernon Senior Towers.

The City of Columbus Associates Meeting will be held on February 24th at 50 W. Gay Street, 3rd floor conference room. Speakers will be the Ohio Department of Transportation speaking on the 70/71 split and SBC speaking on phone service.
