NEXT BLOCK CLUB MEETING
Our next block club meeting will be Tuesday, October 12 at 6:30 at the Gloria Parks Community Center. We will have Kelly Ackley from the local COPS program to give us a presentation regarding crime prevention and other safety issues. We will also have a brief talk regarding identity theft. We will discuss any neighborhood issues and any initiatives that anyone would like to bring up. Come to the meeting and learn about issues important to all of us.
LOTTERY POOL
As an extra incentive to join the block club, everyone in good standing has been entered in a six month subscription to the NY state lottery. If you join you can be entered in the next subscription. We may re-name the street millionaire?’s row if we win!
KATRINA RELIEF FUND
The block club donated $100 to the special relief fund for hurricane victims at the American Red Cross. We felt that we should help out our fellow neighborhoods in times of trouble. Keep contributing those bottles and cans every Saturday. This donation was made possible because of your donations.

UPCOMING EVENTS AT GLORIA PARKS COMMUNITY CENTER
Our local community center, Gloria Parks on Main Street has the following events on their calendar:
October 15 Chiavettas Chicken BBQ
October 21 Flu Shots 10AM-2PM
October 22 9:30-3:30 Safe driving/ insurance reduction class - completion of the class enables participants to receive a reduction in their auto insurance and reduces points on your license.
Call the center at 832-1010 for more details. The Chiavettas BBQ is the major fund raiser for the community center. Please enjoy a fabulous dinner and support your local center.

HALLOWEEN
2 years ago we had an impromptu curbside barbecue on a beautiful Halloween night. This year we will, weather permitting, have our 3rd annual Halloween night barbecue. Stop by when you see us cooking out and enjoying the night. Bring a chair and a snack to share if you like.
