Crime: Vigilance is the Key

May 03, 2000

Officer Danny Valadez of the Phoenix Police Department visited the Neighborhood Association meeting April 4 and praised our crime prevention efforts. He did stress that continued observation by the residents is the key to keeping crime rates low.

Key points to remember:
IN EMERGENCIES contact the police directly using 9-1-1.
For non-emergencies, you may contact Officer Valadez directly at 246-9480.

Statistics for the neighborhood are available online from www.faxnet1.org. Numbers reported go back to 1996, and a comparison tool is available. From these statistics, it appears that the year 2000 crime rate has risen to meet the rate in 1997.

Jan-Mar 1997: 90 crimes reported (down 7% from 1996)
Jan-Mar 1998: 82 crimes reported (down 15% from 1996)
Jan-Mar 1999: 84 crimes reported (down 12% from 1996)
