Minutes - for the NorthEast Coalition - April 19, 2009

The meeting was called to order by President Claire Green-Fallon at 3:05.  The invocation was given by Mayor Pat McCory.  The Pledge of Alliance was given by the group.

The president introduced the guest speakers for the day, Pat McCory and a token of thanks was given to the mayor for his service and dedication to Charlotte, 

The main topics of discussion of the speaker were:

A). Improving access to goods, services, and employment are the keys to maintaining neighborhoods vitality

- Economy

- Energy

- Universities

- Infrastructure - provide infrastructure improvements to existing neighborhoods, roads, sidewalks/curbs and gutters and other amenities

 Question and answer session followed.  The guest was thanked for his time and great information.

The President spoke about the upcoming symposium to be held on May 16, 2009 at the Convention Center, starting at 7:45 - 3: pm.

Committee 21 - Held its last meeting for the year

Gas tax is going away.  Many will now stay in Mecklenburg County

No further business, motion to adjourn the meeting of Marc 15, 2009 at 5:15 P.M.  seconded, all approved.  Motion carried.  ALL AYES
