A section of Elbel Road, in Schertz, will be closed starting Monday, August 25th to allow work to continue on the City?’s drainage and flood mitigation project. This stage project involves constructing a bridge near the Guadalupe County Annex on Elbel Road.
Because of this closure, traffic to Samuel Clemens High School from FM 3009 will have to access Elbel Road from Schertz Parkway from either FM 78 or from Live Oak Road. Elbel Road will be closed to through traffic for approximately three months.
Work on this section of the drainage project was delayed while utility, sewage, and telephone lines were relocated out of the path of the drainage project. In order for the lines to be relocated, a number of trees had to be removed from alongside Elbel Road.
