NEXT COMMUNITY MEETING

Tuesday ?¨C October 11, 2005 ?¨C 7 pm

Northcliffe Hall - 3501 Morning Drive

GUEST SPEAKERS: MAYOR- HAL BALDWIN & CITY MANAGER-DON TAYLOR

A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT:

Dear Residents:

We are making great progress on the quest for replacing the monument at the Chelsea Street entrance. Mr. Carlos Sandoval, the developer for the new 240- unit development on FM 1103 at Chelsea, has given us use of the corner of his property where the old monument used to be. Mr. Bud Dieter, one of our homeowners, has volunteered to provide his vast engineering experience to help us design the new sign. This will be another step in helping to promote pride in our community.

As a matter of interest: The two new Eagle Valley cul-de-sac streets off Country Club Blvd. and Mayfair are known as ?¡?°Northcliffe Village?¡?±. They are also a Deed Restricted subdivision with their own Covenants. We should all welcome them to the neighborhood and help them feel a part of the community.

Our thanks to the Scenic Hills HOA who has agreed to pay half of our electric bill to keep Old Glory flying at the entrance. Any donations for flags or flag repair would be appreciated and will help to keep the flag flying in the future. We should all give thanks to Dave Garber for all of his hard work in maintaining and flying our colors! He has done a wonderful job for many years.

A BIG THANK YOU! We would like to take this opportunity to give our sincere thanks to Al & Linda Cohen for all of their hard work and commitment to the HOA and the community. Linda devoted many hours designing and developing the Newsletter and Al was an outstanding Treasurer. We wish you happiness and contentment in your new home in Kansas.

Debbie Bell, President

FOR YOUR INFORMATION

CORRECTION- In last month?¡?¯s newsletter Tom Eaton?¡?¯s (the code enforcement officer) correct phone number is (210) 658-7477 ext. 1166. Please report violations to him.

SNAKE CAUTION- There have been several poisonous snakes seen in various areas in Northcliffe. Please be aware of this dangerous hazard and supervise small children and pets. We don?¡?¯t want anyone getting hurt. If you are bitten, seek medical attention immediately.

STREET SWEEPER- Please remember that the city sends the street sweepers through Northcliffe on the last Friday of each month. If there are too many cars on a particular street the city says that they will NOT clean your street. Maria Scagliola had to work long and hard to get the city to come out here, so we certainly don?¡?¯t want to appear that we prefer dirty streets.

AARP DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM ?¨C Do you want to update your driving skills and knowledge and get an insurance discount at the same time? If the answer is ?¡?°yes?¡?±, here?¡?¯s your opportunity. A course for drivers age 50 and over will be held on Thursday and Friday October 13 & 14 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the Scenic Hill Lodge. Attendance at both sessions is required to obtain a certificate. You do not have to be an AARP member to participate. Class materials are supplied by AARP and developed by AARP for the 50 and over age group. The course is designed to sharpen our driving skills, prevent accidents and keep older drivers on the road longer and more safely. Since Texas law requires all auto insurance carriers to offer a discount on premiums to qualified graduates of this and similar courses, most people are able to save on their insurance premiums. Attendance at this course will not remove a traffic citation from a driver?¡?¯s record. Cost for the course is $10 per person. If you are interested, call John Connolly and reserve a place. His telephone number is 830-620-5065.

LINE DANCING ?¨C FREE Line dancing classes are every Thursday morning 9 AM at the Northcliffe Hall ?¨C 3501 Morning Dr. Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced dancers are welcome.
