Public nuisance: Any animal or animals that unreasonably annoy humans, endanger the life or health of other animals or persons, or substantially
interfere with the rights or citizens, other than their owners, to enjoyment of life or property. This includes animals that are repeatedly at large or
stray or damages the property of anyone other than its owner.

All dogs, cats, and other animals shall be kept under restraint; and shall not be allowed run at large, stray.

The City of Schertz Animal Control and the Schertz Animal Shelter are available to help control any animal problems that exist in this community. If you have any questions, problems, or complaints please contact them at (210) 658-5321 ext. 1275. Their hours are Monday-Friday 8 A.M.- 6 P.M. After hours: bites only or wildlife in your home. Traps are available at the Animal Shelter for a $50 refundable fee (refunded after trap is returned). Contact Roger Messick at (210) 648-6607 if you need a trap.

The owner of every animal shall be responsible for
the removal of any excrete deposited by his/her animal(s) on public walks, recreational area,
or private property including the property of the owner.
