Northcliffe

Dear Residents

Apr 23, 2005

A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT:

Change is inevitable and Northcliffe is not immune to it. Many of the changes we will be experiencing will be exciting and some will require patience and an ability to adjust. One cannot help but notice all of the building and growth around us. The newest addition will be a 241 single-family home development that will extend from Chelsea to I-35 along FM 1103, and will border the 16th and 17th holes of the Golf Course. The Developer has submitted his plan to the City of Schertz, and plans should be finalized within the next month or two. The good news is that the developer is considering allowing us to rebuild our ?“Northcliffe?” sign in its old location along Chelsea. In preparation for this we are asking for volunteers skilled in masonry to volunteer their time and expertise in helping us to rebuild the sign when the time comes. If you are willing to help to improve the appearance of your community, please contact me at the number in this newsletter.

Your HOA has been successful in getting the city to approve changing the stop sign at the front exit of Northcliffe to a yield sign (no more hefty fines). We have also requested that a streetlight be placed at that entrance.

The HOA is currently planning events for National Night Out on August 2nd. We hope to encourage as much participation as possible in order to bring our community together. More information will be distributed as plans evolve.

Anyone interested in participating in some ?“Neighborhood Clubs?” such as cooking, book, gardening, knitting, etc., should contact Angela Hougdahl @ (830) 624-0833.

Recently, some idiot drove a pickup onto the 13th green of the golf course late at night and severely damaged it. Anyone noticing vehicles or people on the course at night should report it to the Schertz police. Most of us enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the golf course around us, and should be very angry with the degenerates who would deface it.

Finally, I would like to make an appeal to all homeowners who have an interest in the quality of their community to attend our quarterly community homeowners?’ association meetings. The April meeting had two City Council members and the acting City Manager in attendance to answer questions and provide updates. It is hard for the city of Schertz to take an interest in our community if we don?’t appear to. Someone from Schertz will attend every meeting. We have their attention, and we need to take advantage of it. The next community meeting will be July 12th at 7PM.

Debbie Bell, President
