WORDS FROM THE PRESIDENT:
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT:
Our first multi-community National Night Out was a huge success! We had many, many people from The Fairways at Scenic Hills, Northcliffe and Whisper Meadow. There were more people using the pool for the two hours we reserved it than we have ever seen in one week?’s time. The children seemed to enjoy the games, and the free pizza was a major hit! Students and instructors from the ?“Martial Arts Leadership Academy?“ put on a fantastic demonstration enjoyed by all.

The evening began with a visit by a Schertz fire truck and EMS vehicle. Members of the Schertz police motorcycle unit later joined the celebration and let participants inspect and sit on the cycles.

Mayor Hal Baldwin and members of the Schertz City Staff visited as well as Councilmen David Scagliola and Jim Fowler.

Officer Chris Duprat, Special Projects Officer for the Police Department, spoke with residents and said the following:

"It is such an awesome experience when our residents can come out for common goals, and while this one night is not going to stop crime, violence or drugs, it demonstrates, once again, that we all want safer streets and a real sense of community. It has proven to be an effective and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for safer streets." Remember what I always say: as a resident, you are more familiar with your street than even the police are. So if you think something is suspicious then it probably is. Don't be afraid to call us."

THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!

We need to give a HUGE Thank You to Barbara Wells of The Fairways at Scenic Hills, and Maria Scagliola of Northcliffe for all the hard work they did to organize this successful event. We would also like to thank Wendy Swan for her exhaustive work planting and mulching the entrance to the pool and generally cleaning-up around the pool so that it would look nice for the event.

A VERY BIG thank you to the following businesses for donating prizes to our event:

Domino Pizza (Schertz)

NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS

HOA Board Elections

Board elections will be held at the October Community Meeting. Please contact a Board Member or attend the meeting if you are interested in becoming a member of the HOA Board.

COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE

Get ready for our Annual Fall Community Garage Sale set for Saturday, October 6th from 8:00 a.m. ?– 6:00 p.m. Rain date is Saturday, October 13th. This year, two of our neighboring communities?—The Fairways of Scenic Hills and Whisper Meadow will also hold their respective garage sale on the same date. This should help to attract even more buyers to our community! For a minimal charge of only $3.00, each household can sell merchandise right from their own garage. This fee is to offset the cost involved for advertising and to obtain the required permit by the City of Schertz. The Northcliffe Homeowners Association will handle all that for you! We are also in the process of making arrangements with a non-profit organization to pick up leftover items from your home the week after our event. More details to follow in our October newsletter. To register and/or obtain additional info (family last name A-L), contact Sylvia 830-609.0112; (family last name M-Z), contact Debbie 830.214.0320.
