FYI,

There has recently been an increase of vehicle thefts in Division 2, (West of I-635/North of the Kaw River). To my knowledge only one has occurred in the Piper area, specifically, Westlake 102nd and Georgia. Suspect(s) are reportedly stealing vehicles during morning hours that are being left unattended to warm up in driveways. Please spread the word through your neighborhood and report any suspicious activity or vehicles to police dispatch. Possible suspects include four black males in a white Ford Explorer. Use extra caution when warming up your vehicles. Technically, leaving a vehicle unattended and running is a violation of city ordinance and carries a $35.00 fine.
