Motorized Scooter Regulations

Parents and kids need to be aware of the laws governing the use of motorized scooters in Citrus Heights. In order to operate a motorized scooter legally, your child must be age 16 or older and wear a safety helmet. Scooter speed may not exceed 25 miles per hour, and the rider must obey all traffic signs and safety laws. Riders found in violation will be ticketed by the Citrus Heights Police Department. These regulations have been put in place for our kids?’ safety. If you encounter a motorized scooter while driving, please be cautious and make sure the rider sees you as well.
