Glad to see spring is finally upon us. January and February provided enough snow and
Cold for the entire year!
We will hold our annual meeting at the Orange township hall on Wednesday, March 17, starting at 7:30 PM. One of the main issues will be what to do with the money received last year from the County and AEP for the rights to the land they needed for the road widening of South old State. The Association has decided to use this money primarily for capital expenditure reinvestment over the next two years. Some money was used for moving the monument and fence at the corner of South Old State and E. Powell, and the trees along E. Powell. The amount remaining is $23,636.50. Currently, we are looking into getting lights for the Coldharbor Blvd. And Gainer Drive entrances, and upgrading the lights at the Aurora Ave. entrance. In addition, we are considering upgrading the street signs (one proposed design is below).
Please attend this meeting to offer your thoughts and suggestions on how to best spend this money for capital improvements to Oak Creek East!
We will also hold elections for trustees at the March 17th meeting. If nobody runs, the care of the grounds will be taken over by the Township. They will hire an outside firm to manage the property, which in all likelihood will result in an increase in dues. So PLEASE consider being a Trustee!
Finally, you may have noticed that the subdivision sign on the Aurora Ave. entrance has FINALLY been replaced. This sign broke into a number of pieces on one of those really windy days in the Fall. To get the right leaf background, we decided to go with the company that built the original sign, Sign-a-Rama. They still had the template to cut the leaves. They were very busy however, which is why it took so long. The sign is also now attached much better to the monument. We hope all agree that the new sign was worth the wait!
Hope to see all of you at our Annual Meeting, Wednesday, March 17th, 7:30 ?– 9:00 PM, Orange Township hall.
