Winter Maintenance Tips For Your Home

After the holidays are over, you will probably be taking down various decorations and putting them in storage. It’s a great time to visually inspect your roof and your attic or storage areas. While taking down lights, make sure that your roof shingles are intact and there are no signs of deterioration. For your storage areas, look out for leaks or moldy areas.  Another helpful tip we received from Battalion Chief Grace Yamane at the December monthly meeting was to pick up free sandbags from the Fire Station, and fill them up with sand from the beach. Keep the filled sandbags on hand in case of heavy El Niño rains decide to come our way
