Fire protection is provided by the North Shelby County Fire and Emergency Medical District, 4617 Valleydale Road, Birmingham, AL 35242, (205) 991-6439.
Annual Service Charge
Annual service charge for fire protection is due Oct 1 for the fiscal year Oct 1 - Sept 30, and payment is late after Dec 29. The FY 2008 charge is $213. A lien can be placed on your home for non-payment. There is also a $25 late fee if paid after Dec 29.
Insurance Rating
Present ISO rating is 4, on a range of 1 (Best) to 10 (Worst). According to the North Shelby Fire web site, the impact on homeowner's insurance costs of maintaining a 4 rating, versus a 10 rating, results in annual savings of $1,082 on a $200K home.
