Gateway Project 2007
A flat of Lantanas has been planted in thegarden section of the 44th street gateway. Itneeds a little more work and some rain andshine to make it a sea of yellow. Michelle Liuand I planted another flat on that gateways?’mound under the sign. They look really great! Thanks to Hondo Baggett for the mowingthere!
We have hired a young man to mow theParker Entrance but we still need to try tokeep it clean and watered. Michelle Liu, JoyceSmith, John Allen and I planted the Lantanason the mound and made a garden on the eastend of the first section. Allen Thompson addedthe much needed water. Bruce Comptonbought us 3 more bags of the mulch to add tothe gateway. Thanks Bruce!
The church?’s youth group will plant the flowerson the 59th street entrance and are helping tomaintain it. It?’s lookin?’ good!
Please help us keep the gateways neat, clean, mowed and watered through the summer.

LETTER FROM
NEW DOMINION
Re: Safety Evacuation Friday, 06-15-07
On Friday June 15th at approx. 7:30 PMthe OKC #2-19H well located near SE 59thand Sunnylane Ave. experienced a ?“gaskick?”. A gas bubble formed at approx.6,000 feet below ground and beganmigrating up the well bore. This causedgas, water and drilling fluids to bereleased into the air. The drilling rig crewresponded immediately by implementingthe Emergency Procedures Plan andnotified the Police and Fire departmentsof the situation. Oklahoma City Policearrived, assessed the situation and beganblocking off SE 59th Street betweenBryant and Sunnylane. The emergencyresponse teams decided to evacuate thearea north of the well until the well hadbeen brought under control. NewDominion personnel quickly evaluated thesituation and began implementing theshut in procedures for the well. Approx.two hours after the incident occurred; thewell had been shut in. The emergencyresponse teams declared the area wassafe, gave the all clear signal and allowedresidents back into their homes.
The Oklahoma Corporation Commissionand the City of Oklahoma City PublicWorks Department reviewed the incidentwith New Dominion personnel. Theydetermined the well is safe and approveddrilling operations to resume.
New Dominion sincerely apologizes forany inconvenience that this has causedyou, our neighbors. New Dominion iscommitted to protecting the health andsafety of the public, as well as everyresident of the neighborhood. NewDominion personnel will attend the July12th Oakcliff Neighborhood Associationmeeting to address any questions orconcerns you may have.
Sincerely,
Jerry Breaux
