MINUTES OF THE JULY 12, 2007 MEETING OF THE OAKCLIFF NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION
?• Michelle Liu, ONA Vice President, opened the Meeting.
?• Minutes of the previous meeting were passed out, reviewed and approved. The Treasurer Report was passed out, reviewedand submitted for audit by Chris Schaeffer, ONA Alt. Treasurer.
?• Chris Schaeffer, Alt Treasurer and P.O.C. for the Gateway Project, gave an update regarding the improvements on each median.
At 59th & Shalimar ?– Thanked John Cole and the Church Youth for taking care of themaintenance at the median.
At Parker & Bryant ?– A young man has volunteered to work this median, however, extra help is needed to maintain this median.
At 44th & Shalimar ?– Chris, Hondo and Bev were thanked for their help maintaining this median. Also, reported that 5 of the Lantana plants had been removed without permission. Please report any vandalism and/or theft. Chris also reported that the final Grant expense request has been turned into the Oklahoma City Community Foundation and payment received.
?• Chris reported that due to the small number of ONA t-shirts, we will not be ordering t-shirts until a new design has been chosen and will not run the order form in the newsletter.
?• Chris, P.O.C. for Beautification committee, gave an update about the success of Yard of the Month. Another 5 neighbors have been awarded Yard of the Month, which has generated a little healthy competition.
?• Lavana Landsdale, new member, reported that she and her son had applied the Weed & Feed to the Parker median.
?• Bobbie Allen, Chairperson for National Night Out (read by Chris), reported the list of games, prizes, food, etc that are planned for NNO. Volunteers are still needed.
A $200 donation from Frontier State Bank has been received.
?• Michelle Liu reported ONA will give a membership sign to be placed in each yard when membership dues are paid.
?• John Cole gave an update on the Faith-based Grant. The selection had been made and we were not chosen. However, we plan to apply again in the future. He also reported that the $55,000 Playground project dedication will be held on July 29th at 10:30am, City Officials and all neighborsare invited. The playground is open to all.
?• Open discussion regarding gas leak at New Dominion well site and the evacuation performed by OKC emergency crews. Mike w/New Dominion confirmed the new and continued safety precautions in place to avoid such a situation again.
?• Open discussion regarding cleanup of gasoline contamination caused by the old Gas Station on the southeast corner .

Where: Church of the Nazarene grounds (west side of Church) at 59th & Shalimar
When: Tuesday ?— August 7th, 2007 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM

We hope to have local police & fire departments and some city officials in attendance.
