Park Avenue Uptown, LLC, the current owner of the former Children's Hospital
site between Ogden and Downing Streets and E. 18th and E. 20th Avenues, will be
allowing neighbors to salvage landscaping plants and materials east of the old
Children's Hospital on Saturday, April 5th, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Neighbors may enter the site from Downing Street at the traffic light at E. 19th
Avenue. Trees, shrubs, perennials and landscaping materials that may be lost
during demolition activities will be available for free. Tree transplanting
equipment is required for larger trees, which may not be transplanted by hand.
Neighbors must bring their own tools, wheelbarrows and vehicles for digging and
transporting plants and materials. The procedure for a fair distribution of
plants among neighbors will be handled on-site. This salvage operation is not
open to commercial landscapers, and is intended to benefit the neighborhoods
near the Hospital District. For questions, please call Paul Benington at
303-863-7061.
