Old San Rafael Neighborhood Organization
Board of Directors Meeting
Minutes ?– August 4, 2002
In attendance: Joe Pollara, Ariel Gelman, Kathryn Sharpe, Ken Kyle, Donna De George, Mary Anne McNeil, Helen French, Nelson Bock, Paul Brothe
Historic Designation: Joe Pollara spoke with Carla Madison of the City Park West Neighborhood Organization. Carla?’s neighborhood is in the process of working on their overlay district. Joe learned that historic designation may not have all of the protections we would like. After discussion it was decided that the Board members should explore as many options - overlay district, historic designation, partnering with Historic Denver and the pros and cons of each.
A motion was made and seconded to not submit a grant application to the Colorado Historical Society for the October 2002 round of grant submission. The motion was unanimously approved.
Action Items:
Joe Pollara will contact Jim Wiseman regarding the Board?’s decision to not proceed with a grant at this time.
Ariel Gelman will contact the City of Denver to find out about a program called Blue Print Denver and its impact on our neighborhood plan.
Nelson Bock and Paul Brothe will contact Historic Denver to discuss that organization?’s ability to assist the neighborhood.
Mary Ann McNeil will contact Norman Cable to outline some of the pros and cons of historic designation.
Joe Pollara will contact City Park West to obtain more information.
