Businesses Launch Effort to Reduce Crime

Oct 09, 2000

Due to recent arsons and other unlawful activities in the Ketchum and Airways neighborhood, the Airways/Lamar Business Association (ALBA) is asking area businesses, churches and community associations for contributions to Crime Stoppers for the arrest and conviction of any person or persons committing acts of crime in the business development area.

Reducing and eliminating crime in the area is important to ALBA and the local economy. A recent study by the Regional Economic Development Center at the University of Memphis projects close to 11,000 jobs will be available when the Airways/Lamar area is fully developed. ALBA is working to maximize the potential of the area.

Please make your check payable to Crime Stoppers and send it to the ALBA office at 2269 Democrat Road, Memphis, TN 38132. For more information contact Albert Crawford at 345-4385.
