Quote from the Dispatch article:
Columbus Development Director Mark Barbash said Brice Road's development was flawed -- especially the access to Consumer Square.
"It's a good example of when the infrastructure doesn't keep up with development,'' Barbash said. "A tough traffic situation can exacerbate things taking place in the market.''
The Brice Road area is in a serious decline, the only major retail that will be left there in 2004 will be Target, Lowes, Hobby Lobby, HH gregg and Circuit City. Best Buy and Babies R Us, are under construction at Taylor Square across from Wal Mart. How long will the others last? The area decline has allegedly increased crime, remember, this is right down the road from our area on Tussing Road.
Our roads are already choked with traffic and no fix is on the near term horizon. Will this lead to a similar decline in Pickerington? What can our elected officials do to be proactive in this situation?
How does the traffic conjestion mesh with your perception of the quality of life in our community? Will our area become a crime mecca too?
