LOCAL NEWSPAPER Takes a Stand in Editorial!

Not the same old line some thoughtful analysis.

KUDOS to THIS WEEK IN PICKERINGTON to actually analyze the community situation and take a thoughtful stance.

Quote of the week from TWIP July 23, 2003 editorial:

This leaves only one thing: The district must step to the plate on land-use planning, residential growth and commercial tax base.

No more, "It's not my job. It's not my jurisdiction. We don't have that power."

The next board member, city council member, township trustee or county commissioner who says, "We're not responsible" should be voted out of office.

Everyone, it seems, wants to "partner." That is, they want to partner until it means actually doing something, then suddenly it's, "Go talk to someone else."

Board member Larry Sigman says the board doesn't get anywhere by criticizing other local officials. Well, it's time to try, because the district, the city and the township are in trouble.

Do we have a new "troublemaker" voice in town and township?
