NOTES FROM BOB BIELENBERG, PVCA BOARD MEMBER

Annual Meeting
Attendance at this year?’s Annual Meeting was remarkable. Most years there are only 20 to 30 PVCA members in attendance. But this year, approximately 200 people attempted to squeeze themselves into a room that holds only 108. Because there wasn?’t enough room for everyone to participate, the board announced that the discussion of covenants would be rescheduled for a later date. Non-members were asked to leave, so that PVCA members could remain and hold their business meeting.

Elections were then held to fill the five open seats on the Board of Directors. In another vote, it was decided that dues for 1998 will remain at $40 per year.
Invoices will be mailed to all Palos Verdes homeowners in late February or early March.

Voting
At the Annual Meeting there appeared to be some misunderstandings about voting, and who is eligible to vote.

The Annual Meeting is an end of the year meeting for PVCA members. Those eligible to vote at that meeting were Palos Verdes homeowners who had financially supported the PVCA in 1997. At next year?’s Annual Meeting, the homeowners who have paid 1998 dues will be eligible to vote.

However, membership in the PVCA is not a requirement for voting on covenant changes. Every homeowner will be eligible to vote to approve or disapprove changes in their filing?’s covenants.

New Board of Directors
There are 9 seats on the Board of Directors and five of those seats were up for election. At the Annual Meeting, the floor was opened to nominations and thirteen PVCA members expressed an interest in running for a 2-year term on the board.

The newly elected members of the board are Howard Anderson, Cappi Morgan-Black, Denver Fox, Bruce Hill and Jill Manley. Continuing on the board are Robert Bielenberg, Larry McLaughlin, Vance Watson and Mark Zoeller.
