You may be wondering; What is the Crisis?
You may want to know; What services are affected?
Your Discussion is needed?
Your questions are welcome?
Oregon City is facing one of its most challenging budgets in 2005, for General Fund Services. And the word that describes our future is, "Crisis".
The City Commission appointed a task force made up of 20+ citizens who represent the greater Oregon City area. The defeat of the library levy presented new complications with the City's budget. The recommendations are now before the City Commission who are discussing, in great detail, the proposals made by the Task Force.
This year we, the taxpayers, will be asked to decide Oregon City's future. We ask that you take a small amount of time to learn about the budget issues that OUR City is facing this next budget year and how it will affect you.
The City Commission is weighing the pros and cons of annexation to Clackamas County Fire District #1. There are other very important services that may need to be reduced or eliminated all together should this Levy fail.
And, here is your chance, at the Next PPNA General Membership Meeting on March 21, 2005
we will hear City Manager, Larry Patterson, give the facts of our financial situation and offer information should the Levy pass, or be defeated. Mr. Patterson has been asked to research this problem from every possible angle and I think you will find he can help with most if not all of your questions.
See you there.
