Since Joaquin and Tamera Ribas moved into Pembrooke a year ago, they've made remarkable improvements to their yard. The previous owner was partial to cactuses, which dominated the landscape. Joaquin and Tamera replaced them with colorful tropicals that stand out against the sidewalk now covered with brick-colored pavers. Unsatisfied with a poor result after resodding not once, but twice, Joaquin enriched the soil before laying new sod yet again. Few of us would go to such an extreme, but the result is lovely---a perfect lawn.
